Please make sure that you read my listing carefully so that you are aware of my requirements and history. I need a patient, understanding and dog experienced home. I have been in rescue 2 years.
I was rescued, along with 133 other dogs from a hoarding situation. There were 250 dogs and cats living in a small home in Orlando. Unfortunately, none of us had very much exposure to the outside world and were terrified. I need a home with a privacy fenced yard, because I do not walk well on leash and get spooked by outside activity. I also will bark when I am uncomfortable. If grabbed at, or cornered, I might nip. I am great with other dogs and with people that I know. But even when those people come home or into the room, I might bark at them. I will warm up to people but retain a lot of my skittishness. I like to cuddle and be petted, once I am used to you. I am NOT good with cats. While, most times, I won't bother them, you can not trust me and will go after a cat.
I am a male Shih Tzu/Dachshund mix and I probably have several more breeds in me. I am about 7 years old and weigh about 27 lbs. I am neutered, heartworm negative, current on shots, micro-chipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, have had a negative fecal and a dental done. My adoption is $300.

A New Beginning Pet Rescue, Inc. only accepts cash. We do not have the ability to accept credit or debit cards and we no longer accept checks. Our adoption events are held on Saturdays from 12-4 at the PetSmart in Altamonte Springs.
