My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hudson.
Hudson is a stunning, 4 month old seal lynx point ragdoll mix. When petting Husdon, it's like you're petting a bunny, his fur is so soft. Husdon came in from a high kill shelter, when he was just 2-3 months old, where he was in with the feral kitties. His rescuers quickly realized this poor, young boy was not feral, but very shy & scared. Husdon has been making progress in his foster home, and is ready to continue coming out of his shell in his new home.

Hudson needs a quiet, patient, understanding adopter who will continue to work with him. When he is in a comfortable environment, he likes being picked up & pet, and will soon purr like crazy. He will roll over for belly rubs and again, purr like crazy. He does need to be approached slowly, from a low position, since big, tall walking giants can be scary. With time, and patience, Hudson will make a good companion, though his new adopters need to realize he may never be a lap kitty.
Hudson likes other cats & cat-friendly dogs. Since Hudson is so young and uncertain, he absolutely needs a young companion kitty to play with and show him the ways. He will not be adopted to a home with children under the age of 8.

If you are interested in adopting one or more of these precious babies, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com to request an application. Their foster home is located in Austin, TX. His adoption fee is $275
Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
