My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pascha is a gorgeous big girl and is almost certainly an Anatolian Shepherd. They are bred to guard livestock in pastures in remote locations. They aren’t herding dogs, they’re bred to guard and protect. The breed is aloof and independent. It’s also their nature to roam, so a secure fence is a must. A privacy fence would be the best for her.
Pascha was basically tied to a tree for most of her early life, neglected and underfed. Her confidence around new people and new places needs work. She’s come a long way while in rescue, but an adopter will need to be patient with her and continue to build her confidence. She has been treated for heartworms and will need a follow-up blood test in 6 months at one of our local vets, so adoption in the Huntsville area is preferred. Pascha is still under weight and could stand to gain at least 10 lbs.
She does fine around other dogs as long as they don’t overstep their bounds, and she’s been good with cats. She’ll be a great dog for a couple or a family with older kids. She’d also do well as an only dog since once she’s comfortable, she craves human attention.
Pascha is house trained, will go in a crate (you’ll need a big one), but does just fine sleeping on a dog bed. She’s spayed, micro chipped, and current on all required vaccines.
