Rescued after being abandoned/getting lost with her brother(adopted) in a rural farming community in western NC. Owners couldn't be found via various local 'missing' animals sites on the internet, newspaper and Animal Control, who advised them to contact Howlin4Spirit.
Thelma Lou(BeagleX dob: 01/01/2020) is very sweet, happy, healthy and so willing to please her kind and gentle-handed person. Thelma Lou is seeking an active person/family who enjoys hikes, jogs, brisk runs on the beach or mountain trails. Will make an excellent companion for any size family(however, she is currently not suited for toddlers until she completes some basic obedience training), single person or couple who enjoys the outdoors and wants a best buddy to share in their experiences and snuggling when it's time to slow down. She's a real lover!
Walks well on-leash, housebroken, crate-trained and gets along well with other dogs.
Thelma is NOT suited for apt living...she's just a big puppy who needs room to play and exercise. A 5'>6' physical fence is required(NO electric fences) for adoption approval. OR, we will consider an experienced and active dog person who is early-retired or working from home, living in a rural area to adopt Ms Thelma Lou.
She came to us with a cherry eye and was still intact. She has since recovered from her eye & spay surgery, is utd on yearly vaccines, current on monthly heart worm and flea/rick prevention. and is ready to go to her pre-approved adoptive home.
Thelma Lou is in & will remain in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC until her fur-ever home is approved. Transport is available via LIFESAVERS & SAVE THEM ALL Rescued Pet Transport Services to all points along the Eastern Seaboard(VA/MD/NJ/PA/NY & Long Island/CT/MA/NH/ME) as far as PortsmouthME and BurlingtonVT, and relay stops in the Buffalo/Rochester/SyracuseNY region as well as stops in Allentown, Carlisle & PittsburgPA. Transport fee: $125 as far as Vince Lombardi svc plaza-NJTnpk mm115 and $140 to Jericho, Long Island and all points N, W & E of Vince Lombardi svc plaza.
adoption fee: $250(includes spay, micro-chip, 2 DHLPP, Bordatella & 1st yr Rabies vax, parasite-free, all medical paperwork from day#1 with Howlin4Spirit including our vet's surgical notes, current on heart worm and flea/tick prevention, Martingale collar & matching 6' leash, 'Super Puppy' training book, Rabies and health certificates, Nylabone & 1 chew toy, 'Rescued Dogs Rock' magnet, 2 pet alert wallet cards & 1/2 gallon bag of her current dry food(Tractor Supply Store's '4health' salmon a& potato.
