My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI

Meet Indiana!  He’s a bouncy flouncy goofball!  Born around April 2020, he is innately a very happy, playful boy.  He weighs around 55 pounds, and his coat is becoming longer and thicker.

Indy, or Happy as we also call him, recently had a DNA test that gave a lot of insight into his active silly personality.  He is 12% Great Pyrenees, with 38% Staffordshire Terrier, 13% Australian Cattle Dog, and 18% Chow.  The test was able to detect a total of 11 breeds in this little guy!

Another test he had, and passed with flying colors in his foster home, is the “good dog" test!

Indiana is a sweet natured, extremely loving, loyal pup.  He loves attention and cuddles.  His favorite place to spend the night is up in bed snuggled with his people.

This pup has never met a stranger!  He can be a little overwhelming in his excitement to meet new people, but he settles quickly into being a solid lovebug.

Indy gets along wonderfully with all the other dogs he’s met during his foster stay.  He must have a big, playful dog buddy in his forever home.  He had a young Weimaraner visit for a week and befriended him instantly.  They played non-stop!  He is much more active than his 12% Pyr heritage!

He loves playing in water!  He enjoys playing in the pool as well as out in the rain.

He does well on walks, is crate trained, housebroken, gentle receiving treats, and knows basic commands.

Indiana would love to live in an active home where children play with him and the family keeps him engaged in their lives.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
