Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, everyone! It’s Indigo! Did you even recognize me? Foster Mom (FM) said it was time to update my pictures because I’ve gotten so big since I first came to RCHS. I’ve had a blast wrestling with my Aussie foster bro, but it’s time to find my forever home! Do you have a big dog my size that would like to play? I’m basically a giant toddler who loves to play and explore. Keep your eye on me because I might steal a slipper or peek in the trash can, but when FM redirects me to a toy, I’m happy to play with that instead. I like running around at the dog park and sticks. Boy, do I like sticks. Big sticks. Little sticks. Sticks that are still attached to trees. Sticks that look like sticks but aren’t sticks (FM said it was tall grass so I ate it).
I’m getting good at some basic commands. I know ‘Go home’ means to get in my kennel and I do it very nicely. You don’t even have to give me a treat. I’m also learning the word sit and a hand motion that means I can’t get up until FM says it’s okay. Speaking of my kennel, I sleep there quietly at night, but if I’m there during the day I bark loudly to let people know I want to come out and play. Because of that, an apartment is probably not the best fit for me. Also, since I’m a toddler myself and a bit rambunctious at times, a family with small children might not be the best. (Older kids are fun, though!) My tail is kind of like a giant stick that thwacks around uncontrollably and I use my big paw to get attention. I’d sure feel bad if I thwacked or scratched a little one on accident.
I would do well in a house with another playful dog my size or as the only dog because I love getting all the attention. I don’t have experience with inside-the-house kitties but will bark at or try to chase after the neighborhood strays. I am affectionate and like to walk through people’s legs (we call it the car wash) so I can get scratches from nose to tail. FM says I’m pretty special and deserve the perfect fur-ever family. See you soon, Indigo
