Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jaxx, 6, is a good boy who is smart and always up for a good time. He was adopted from us in 2020 and returned recently due to a change in the adopter’s lifestyle. He lived with a small dog and got along with him very well. In fact, Jaxx has been sad and nervous since his friend was adopted.
He can be shy when meeting new people (especially men) in a shelter setting, but he did extremely well in his home and even went to the groomer every month. He loves toys and food and is house-trained. Once he gets to know you, he likes to play ball, swim, and have his ears rubbed.
If you are interested in adopting from the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, please fill out this form at https://records.georgetown.org/Forms/AdoptApp for an appointment. Once we receive the adoption agreement we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet available dogs and cats. Please contact the shelter with any additional questions.
The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates).
Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*.
The adoption fee includes:
spaying/neutering
vaccinations (appropriate to species and age)
heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age)
de-worming medication
microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly)
There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown.
Please visit our website for more information on how to adopt, special events, adoption application, educational and volunteer information.
