Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
12/20/2009 UPDATE - Hi there me Cherokee back to tell you I have made so much progress. I am living indoors housebroken, crate trained and invisible fence trained. I am getting along well with the resident britt but still don't like the Yorkie here in my foster home. Still waiting patiently for my forever home.....
Hi, this is Cherokee's foster Mom, speaking now and I'm asking for a special person to help Cherokee out, in his senior years. He came to me 3 weeks ago, after being surrendered to a caring shelter. Let me tell you a little about this wonderful boy.....
After living with one family for almost 11 years, they surrendered him. The why is still in question. He was well taken care of during his lifetime but really wasn't doing well in the shelter, obviously because he was despondent over missing his 'family'!!
He is 11 yrs young, neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and is on heartguard preventative. He weighs about 36lbs and has been given a very good bill of health. He's still very playful with his balls and toys and loves his bed and walks. He does have one strange/funny problem and that's his feet!! His gait is beautiful and is best described as prancing, but he's very heavy footed. He does have a few problems with stairs, but part of that could be he never learned them before. He's getting better everyday. Seems to do well with children, but no other animals.
I have two dogs and cannot keep him anywhere near them inside. Right now, he is on my enclosed, non heated porch, which isn't really fair to him. He wants to be loved and touched and get all the attention he craves. He needs to be an only dog, in the winter of his years. Please adopt him soon!!
Cherokee Here!! I like my new foster home, but I'm not crazy about their "fur friends"!!! I want to be an ONLY DOG!! I love to be petted, groomed and just have someone's hand on me. In return I will love you forever!! I love my toys, bed and walks, but it's going to be getting cold on this porch and I know my foster MOM worries about the weather getting colder and my age. If you are interested in meeting me please fill out the online adoption application at www.americanbrittanyrescue.org, as I am really anxious to start anew with my “forever home”
