My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everyone! My name is Lucy, aka Lulu, and they tell me I am an all American breed- whatever that means? I look to have pug and beagle in there somewhere. I am currently hanging out with what they call a foster family. I have a foster mom, three four-legged foster brothers and an old crotchety foster sister! I like other dogs and want to play more, but these guys are pretty low key!

I spend my free time chewing on bones and toys-I could do it for hours. My foster mom gives me LOADS of stuff to chew on so I do not go and find stuff I am not allowed to chew! I was not introduced to many new people in my first home, so I bark at people and can be very shy when I meet new folks. My foster mom has been taking me to new places and I am meeting new people! Once I am comfortable, I LOVE to cuddle and be beside you. I just need a little time to trust you. I like going on small walks and enjoy that time with humans! I prefer the big two legged as the little ones make so many crazy noises and run around and that scares the tar out of me and I will bark and growl to try to keep those little terror machines away! I have been working on my confidence building skills and I am learning to love trying new things!

My rescue family has taken me to a training class and they reward me for trying new things- those rewards are great- they call them treats!!! I LOVE treats! I do not think I have tried one that I did not find delicious! My foster mom says I will be taking another class and I can not wait! Maybe my forever family will take me too!!

I am learning this world has many great things to offer and may not be as scary as I originally thought. I did have surgery because I kept having what the vet called UTIs. I had to potty all the time! It was awful. Because of this, I am not what my foster mom calls house-trained. She says this surgery should really help me not have to potty so much and we can start working on that soon!

Well, I gotta go- lots of bones to chew!! Hope to meet you soon!

Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 {$75 if Senior} of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.

ADOPTION FEE's:
Puppies under 6 months: $199.00
Adults: $150.00
Seniors (over 7 yrs): $99.00
