Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Tazer. My sister, Tazee, and I were brought to the shelter and left here by our former owners. We have no idea why. We are both beautiful Boxers, young, and VERY social. We love everyone we meet! We are good with other dogs and both of us are very affectionate and happy. We make a gorgeous pair, so it would be nice if we could be adopted together. But if you just have room for one of us, we understand that too. If you’re interested in one or both of us, please hurry. Our Time here at the “shelter” is very limited………
- Approximately 6 to 7 months old
- Weighs ~ 30 lbs
- Will be Heartworm tested & Vaccinated prior to placement
- Tazer will be neutered before he goes to his furever home.
- Shelter hold is up on 09/17/09.
Tazer’s adoption donation fee is only $85.
This low fee covers all his vetting expenses.
Cherokee Shelter animals have only 5 days to find a home or rescue group. The Humane Society of Cherokee County’s volunteers work to save as many animals as possible. The $85 adoption fee includes Rabies and DHPP vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, and heartworm test.
We are very rescue friendly and try to make it as pleasant as possible for rescue groups to save Cherokee Shelter animals. Please contact us via email at cherokeeshelter@gmail.com regarding rescue policies and pricing.
Because of the short time we have to place animals, and the lack of a veterinary clinic at the shelter, neither the Humane Society nor Cherokee County can guarantee the temperament or health of any animals made available for adoption. We will never knowingly place a dangerous or sick animal. It is impossible in the shelter environment to reliably test dogs with cats or small children. Sometimes the stressful environment may create fearful responses even with other dogs that would not occur in a normal home setting. All animals are not compatible with all families, and we reserve the right to refuse adoption when we think the placement may endanger either the pet or the family.
All rescued/adopted pets must be picked up the same day as their veterinary services. Otherwise boarding and additional payment arrangements must be made in advance.
The Cherokee County shelter is located in Gaffney, SC just a few minutes off I-85 and only about 20 miles northeast of Spartanburg, SC and about 50 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC.
