Hero’s story is one of horror and disgust! Hero was attacked by a raccoon which clawed his eye’s and face to pieces, he was found lifeless lying by a river bed by a neighbor who called for animal control, when they responded they knew he need medical attention quickly, so they called the Humane Society which directed them to a local veterinarian, The Vet did all he could and said he would be blind from hereon, an owner was soon located and appeared to be grateful to have him back, however a week or so went by and a call was received that a blind Rottweiler was left off at a bridge with a can of dog food and low and behold it was Hero His owner where contacted and they stated it wasn’t him there Rott had died, Hero was placed on indefinite hold at the Animal Control Division so they could try and make An Abandonment case, but as time went on Hero started losing weight and became very depressed and therefore he was released to us for adoption. Hero is a special, special fellow he is so sweet and loving. He is still getting used to his blindness therefore he runs in to things occasionally, but when you talk to him he will follow your voice straight to you and want to be held and loved. Because of Hero’s condition we will only adopt to an Indoor Home, With out Children and preferable no other animals,(it’s hard enough for Hero to adapt to a new home much less a new home, children, and other pets, ETC) Plus we want Hero to be the Baby of the family and get spoiled rotten like he deserves..

All pets are spayed or neutered,Current on Vaccinations,dewormed, Given a Monthly flea and tick control Treatment and Heartworm Tested (Treated if needed) then given a monthly preventative.


STEPS FOR ADOPTION


Complete an adoption application & return it via e-mail to: birddogrescue@bellsouth.net,

(Applications are located on our home page about 3/4 down page)!!
(VETERINARY REFERENCE AND/OR A HOME VISIT IS REQUIRED!)

Adoption fee's are required to help this & other pets recieve the medical,grooming,etc care they need.


Adoption fee's must be paid in CASH prior to the adoption being completed..


We will provide a 14 day Refund/Return Guarantee,However we will not pay for any grooming,veterinary,etc Fee's you incur during or after the 14 day trial period. (No Exceptions)

Applications are approved or denied in the order they are recieved,therefore if you see the pet you applied for listed as adopted,this doesn't mean that your application was denied it may however mean that it was simply not the first application recieved.We will in most cases notify an approved potential adoptee within 72 hours.



Please understand that our group is run by volunteers,which means they have families,jobs,etc
that must come first,therefore it may not be possible to answer every e-mail.




We are not a shelter,all of our animals are in foster homes,therefore adopters must complete an application and recieve an approval notice before an appointment will be scheduled to meet the pet,Once the animal and the adopter meet then the adopter and one of our adoption coordinators will decide if the animal will be placed in the adopters home.Approvals will be sent via e-mail and you will be requested to either e-mail or call us to confirm receipt of the approval with in 48 hours.if you are approved it does not mean you must adopt the pet..
