My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Cruz came to our rescue after being caught in a trap in the wilderness area of a So Cal town. He was pretty feral when we pulled him. Since being with us he has settled down quite a bit. And while he isn't ready to go to his forever home just yet, we wanted to get his information out for his fans.

Cruz absolutely loves the carefree life he has these days. He never has to worry about his next meal, he gets lots of cookies and treats, he has some very good furry friends and a soft comfy bed in his very own crate.

Cruz will tolerate our head trainer touching him and he no longer tries to bite her. He will be available for adoption once he can be handled by a stranger with no negative behavior being displayed. He still has a ways to go, but we are so proud of how far he has come!

Cruz requires weekly training sessions. If you'd like to help sponsor his ongoing training please donate here: www.TheRescuedPup.com/donate

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is broken down into 4 steps.

Step 1 begins with filling out an application.

Step 2 is a meet and greet with your family members/roommates and existing dogs. (Puppies under 4 months of age will not meet existing dogs)

Step 3 is a home visit. Where we verify the following:
~Where will the dog sleep
~Where will the dog be kept when no one is home
~Where will the dog play

Step 4 is the final step and is when you sign the contract and pay the adoption fee.

Go meet their pets

Our pets stay in homes with their foster families and are located mainly in San Diego County, CA. An application is required to visit our pets.

More about this rescue

The Rescued Pup is an all breed, all size, all age rescue. All of our dogs come from high-intake / low funded shelters, or other situations where they are at risk of being euthanized.
