My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bingo! He is guessed to be about 5-6 years old and weighs 55 lbs. He came from a farm in Indiana where he was free roaming and the neighbors threatened to shoot him if found on their property, so the owner decided to surrender him for his safety.

Bingo is a happy, goofy boy who will make an amazing family member. His favorite things are treats, looking out the window, and squirrel watching in the yard. Bingo has been stellar with houstraining, he is crate trained, and usually only barks if he sees someone walking by the house. He knows how to sit and come, and happily will sleep right next to your bed every night to protect you. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home (between 3-50 lbs), but did meet an intact male chihuahua who was aggressive towards Bingo and Bingo didn't seem to like that. We would describe Bingo's interactions with other dogs as coexisting- basically not seeking out attention or engaging in play, but perfectly fine being around the other dogs. If his new home had dog siblings we think he would do best with dogs that would respect his space and be happy to coexist with him.

Bingo is currently living with a (very dog savvy) 2 year old and he has done very good with him, however Bingo is VERY clumsy and doesn't really know his size and has knocked over the toddler numerus times. He also can get a llittle mouthy when he is excited and he really doesn't care for playing. For those reasons we think an all adult home or home with older, dog savvy children would be best.

Bingo can be nervous in busy environments, so ideally we are looking for a quieter setting for this boy- away from a lot of traffic (both pedestrian and vehicle) and a quieter home without a lot of new visitors. He is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash, but has made so much progress from when we first got him. He can be a bit erratic, so you have to have a good grip on the leash and be prepared for when he tries to change directions quickly. We think with increased expsure to leash walking he will be a pro in no time!

He is at risk for jumping fences shoter than 6', so we will be carefully screening applicants to ensure that measures would be in place to keep him safe and secure. He has a high prey drive so we think he would be best in a cat-free home.

Bingo has a cataract and glaucoma in his right eye and likely has limited to no vision in that eye. He is currently getting eye drops twice a day ito keep his pressure controlled. He will likely need to remain on these drops for lilfe. The cost of the drops is around $20 per month. He also was treated for Lymes disease and no further treatment is needed.
Bingo's adoption donation of $250 helps cover th
e cost of his medical care.
