My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Finn and I am a through and through Finnish Spitz. I bet I know what you’re thinking. You think I am beautiful, right? Handsome, distinguished, gorgeous? Well, my foster mom says I am a pretty boy. I don’t get my feelings hurt. I just smile and give her a ball to throw.

i love water and my puppy pool. Splash, splash! Sprinklers are a great hit, and I like to attack them when they are on. Do you know what? I am an excellent ball retriever and love, love, love chasing balls and bringing them back to you to throw again. And again. And again. and I love hugs and kissed from my humans. I haven't had a chance to cuddle on the couch but that is on my list for my forever home.

I am four now and I like to play. I like to play with the other dogs here but, full disclosure, I don’t do Chickens. Apparently, it is bad manners to eat them, yet, what do I get for dinner? Yup, chicken. I rest my case.

I am nicely house broken, which I don’t get, since I would never break a house. I like to be outside and have a chance to run around. I do need a solid and secure fence, as running around can turn into running away if I forget myself.
I love to eat and have earned the name as Mr. Fluffy Pants around here. That isn’t a nickname I love but, again, who fills my breakfast and dinner bowl? Exactly, no opposable thumbs here, so maybe Foster Mom is the problem? I think the idea of a diet is lousy but I do know it would be better for me to be slim instead of tank-like. And lots of walks would be good for me, and you, and fun as well.

So, no cats for me. No bunnies, no chickens, no little fluffy things that look like what I am bred to hunt. I haven’t met any children of the human variety and while I don’t think I would hurt them, I can be pretty opinionated about things so why take the chance.

I do like to guard my resources, especially if it's a special bone. I need an owner who is more determined and persistent then I am. My foster mom can take a bone away from me and still have every one of her fingers.. I may growl and be ornery but it is bluster- so I need parents that I can't buffalo.

Here is one thing I wasn’t gonna mention but FM said I have to. I am Cujo Crazy in a crate. My first life was very unhappy because I spent many, many hours crated and my crate was smacked when I barked. I got yelled at and things got ugly. And I spend way too many hours in a crate now. I HATE IT!! So if I get to be your little boy, I suggest you burn all the crates before I ever see you. That way you won’t have to see me at my absolute worst with crazy hair and buggy eyes. Good idea, right? And I don’t really need a crate anyway.

Let’s talk grooming. I am a boy who likes to look snappy. I need regular grooming, combing and baths, to stay this gorgeous. Make plans to get very good at that or find a nice groomer, if you are going to be my mommy or daddy. You must keep me up to my high standards. Looks matter.

I live in the middle of nowhere right now. Moriarty, New Mexico, USA. Great name but nowhere. The good news is that we DO have airports and nice roads in New Mexico and I don’t even have to wear a mask to travel! Since it is hot out and it is too dangerous to fly, you would have to make plans to have a road trip to come and get me. More fun in the car! Yippee.

If you would like to find out more about me, and I know you do, call my FM or email her and she will talk to you. OR you can also CC Dalmatian Rescue (poor spotty things) and they will put you in touch with my FM.

You won’t be sorry. I am a loyal and loving boy who needs a lap and home of my own. I have been waiting for too long. Please call me.
Love, Finn
