This handsome boy is Ziggy. He is a handsome 2 year old Black and White Basset boy searching for his forever home. He, like most of our Bassets, has a story to tell. His original "owners"(if you can even call them that) purchased Ziggy from a breeder around 2 years ago. His "owners" never provided Ziggy with the love and socialization he needed and he was left outdoors 100 % of the time through the harsh Iowa winters and summer. Well, this jerky family moved out in the middle of the night and left Ziggy. They brought him inside and bolted. Probably the best thing that ever happened to Ziggy. When the realator showed up and there was a dog inside the property he wanted to take poor Ziggy to the local shelter and the wonderful neighbors stepped in and took Ziggy into their home where he is now thriving and looking for his forever home. we have learned a great deal about Ziggy while in these wonderful person's care. He absolutely ADORES children...he is still excited to see little humans just his size and does jump up to give a happy greeting!! He loves the company of the 2 other dogs in his current home!! His house training is getting there, neutering him will get him a long way and he does have accidents every now and again, so a patient guiding home will be right for him. Ziggy will be UTD on all vaccinations, HW tested negative and on preventative and altered before being placed into any forever home. If you would like to hear more about Ziggy please contact Helena

Please remember Every animal for adoption through an Hounds Haven is fully vetted for their age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested! All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every hound is vaccinated (age appropriate), and de-wormed, in addition to being spayed/neutered.
We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to us lining up an appointment for them to see the hound(s) at the hound(s)' home.
