Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cooper, a laid back chocolate Labrador that has very high expectations when it comes to being petted, receiving cuddles and love!! He is a big chunk of Chocolate Lab love. Like many labs he has an endless amount of love and loyalty to give in return. Cooper is between 6 - 7 years old and weighs around 90 pounds. He has been on a weight reduction diet and his food intake will need to continue to be monitored (no treats or people food), he feels and looks so much better, we do not want any relapses for his sake. Cooper loves children and is very good with them, he does fine with other dogs and is neutral towards cats and he has lived with a cat. He is not much of a barker but if he is in the fenced back yard, he will bark to come in. He does need a fenced in yard. Cooper enjoys riding in the car, and is very good on a leash, he would love daily walks and walking would help keep his weight off as well. This smart boy knows the commands sit, stay, lay down and he comes when called (although like everyone a refresher is helpful he can be a little stubborn in his execution.) In addition to being a good cuddler, he loves to be groomed. One of the good things about being a more mature lab is he can be left at home and only chews his own bone or toys. It would be best for him to be in a house that did not have a lot of steps or a good first floor for him to hang out. He does not like thunderstorms or fireworks, but many dogs do not. If you have the time to spend with a sweet deserving well behaved chocolate lab you should consider making this big love bug a family member!! Cooper is medically vetted; neutered, up-to-date, heart worm negative and microchipped. If you are interested in Cooper go to www.southernskiesrescue.org and complete the online application
