Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dexter is Adopted
Dexter is currently fostered in Mentor Ohio, and his adoption fee/donation is $250
Dexter is a cocker/dachsund mix, and is 4 years old.
He was rescued from a situation where he was abused and neglected.
Dexter is a happy boy, he loves being all cleaned up, and is enjoying life in a home where he is loved and cared for.
He is getting along well with the other dogs in his foster home, and pretty much goes with the flow.
Dexter was not neutered upon intake, and that was just done a few days ago (7/15/20).
He does have the male marking issue, which can be trained out of him now that he is neutered.
Belly bands can easily be used to deter him from this issue as well.
We have noticed some reactiveness with him.
If you grab at him to quickly or try to force him to do something, physically move him off couch for example , he can get nippy.
This could be from past abuse from humans, but we cant say for sure since we dont have enough of that history on him.
Because of this issue he will be an ADULT ONLY PLACEMENT. No children for this boy.
Overall, with a little work, patience snd committment, Dexter can be a wonderful addition to the right family!!
He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.
