Look no further!! Hi, I’m Spunky! I was born around mid-May 2020 and I am now almost 6 months old as of November 2020. My siblings and I were trapped as part of TNR (Trap Neuter Release) efforts in downtown Wilmington, NC. A really nice RescueConnect volunteer took us to her home when we were tiny kittens, and then found another RescueConnect volunteer to be a foster mom to my sister Sooty and I together at the end of June. Here at this foster home my sister Sooty and I have had time to get healthy, eat good meals, have a safe place to sleep, and get used to lots of love and cuddles from our foster human mom. Humans were intimidating for me at first as I hadn’t been around them at all for the first several weeks of my life. Slowly, I allowed my foster mom to pick me up, hold me, pet and scratch me, and I even began falling asleep in her lap eventually with a little time.
True to my name, I am now a very “spunky” little male kitten. I love to play and be silly, kick my toys around, and run all over the place chasing my fish toy on a string and the laser light. I love to watch lots of videos for cats on the iPad on Youtube, particularly ones that show birds, squirrels, fish, and other crawly and engaging things to keep my attention! I enjoy cuddling with my sister Sooty and I also get lots of cuddles from our foster mom. I have been around other adult cats that tolerate my kitten energy. I eat really well, having both dry kitten food and canned pate’ wet food daily. My sister and I also really love our kitty Temptation treats too ! Just shake the bag and I’m so eager to get those yummy treats! I know how to use a litter box very well, and I’d make a very good pet for someone looking to take care of me and love me furever, as I’m basically a fun and playful ball of kitten energy that would add lots of sunshine, excitement, and love to your home!
Ultimately I’d love for my sister Sooty to get adopted with me (but If the right person comes along could consider a single kitten adoption), as we have been together since birth and are a pretty bonded pair of cutie pie kittens! Our foster mom has gained our trust over time and we are really affectionate with her, allowing her to cuddle, kiss, pet and scratch us as we purr in delight. Our adopter should be patient with us initially, as a new person for us to get used to will need to take a little time to fully gain our trust again. So yes, it will take someone wonderful and special who has the heart to win us over, but you will be rewarded so much with our sweetness and delight in our cuteness!
