Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dexter came to us in February 2020 with a SEVERE skin issue. Despite several skin scrapings, visits with multiple vets, the cause of the issue is still unknown HOWEVER he has gotten better and better through the time in his foster home and even though he is still missing hair, he has been cleared for adoption and it is now all up to time for it to grow back. Because his skin was so traumatized, it is unclear if the hair will ever grow completely back in but the good news is that he does not require anymore medication. Just simple things like Coconut oil to keep his skin moisturized and help with hair growth.
Dexter's DOB is 12/01/2019. He is a petite-pit who is expected to weigh 40/45 lbs when fully grown. This boy has been pure joy since day one and has not once stopped wagging his tail (except when he's fast asleep!). He's a total wiggle-butt who LOVES life and everything it has to offer. He's super happy-go-lucky, extremely affectionate, and ready for fun! He's very people-oriented and wants a person who will involve him in their daily life. He will make a fantastic jogging, biking, hiking, or trip to the beach partner and when the day comes to an end, he would love to snuggle up with you in your favorite chair to watch the newest Netflix series. Dex is very energetic and loves to play. Due to his high energy, he will not make a great apartment dog. He needs a yard to run in as well as daily exercise. He is great with other dogs and would LOVE to have another medium/large doggy-companion in the home who can run (or even better - outrun!) and help him learn the ways of a dog and when enough is enough. Dex is EXTREMELY smart and only wants to please. He looks to his people for guidance and praise. Dexter needs a family who is enthusiastic about continuing puppy training & socializing and beyond to help him be an ambassador of his breed.
