My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Maga a 3 year old Doxie/terrier mix. I was found wandering the streets with my other two sisters. It took a while for Animal Control to catch us because we are so scared of new people. Since my past is truly unknown, I will NOT be placed with young kiddos. Once I get to know people I’m not nervous anymore, just be patient with me and give me time to adjust. I will shower you with kisses and you will see how sweet I can be. Since my past is unknown and catching us was an ordeal, a fenced in yard will be a MUST in my new home! I can chase squirrels and my k-9 buddies like nobody’s business, just watch me run. Speaking of watching me, I like it when you go outside with me. I get distracted when I'm outside playing, so make sure I do my business while I'm outside. (working on my potty habits) If I see anyone or another k-9 on the other side of the fence I will run up and down letting everyone know someone’s close. Having someone that is willing to be patient and another dog will be key to my success. After I'm done playing outside, I like to come in and snuggle and just relax. When it's bedtime, I learned real quickly that the big bed is just what I need, so make sure there is a spot for me. I'm not a fan of the crate, so someone or a family that is home a lot would be a better fit. If we go for car rides I do pretty well if I say so myself. So if you are looking for a little darling such as me and are willing to help me learn to trust people, than I'm the diamond in the rough you've been waiting for! Mega is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, had a heart worm test, on heartworm preventative, had a fecal, and microchipped. Mega’s adoption fee is $300.00. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport, WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. For events calendar and adoption application please go to our website at aaprescue.org. A young dog is a 10-15 year commitment. Many dogs are surrendered to us because their owners are no longer able to care for them due to their health. We try to place young dogs and puppies in active, busy families. We encourage seniors to look at age appropriate dogs
