My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winston is a two year old Chocolate Lab/German Shorthaired Pointer mix. This special boy does well with other dogs, loves to play fetch, relax in the pool and go on walks. Winston is a very loving and smart dog, but does need help staying focused and remembering his manners and boundaries. He would do best in a home with an experienced adopter that is comfortable fulfilling the role of a "strong leader" that Winston can trust to steer him in the right direction. We will not place Winston in a home with kiddos or other dogs. He can not handle the responsibility of being permitted on a bed or a couch. Winston is so intelligent that he would love an activity such as dock diving!

We are looking for adaptors that own a house with a fenced in yard. No town houses. Also a home with no bunnies or cats.

Mr. Winston is currently being trained while with us. So we are in search of a local forever family. Once Winston is adopted, his current trainer will continue to work with him and his new family at no further expense!

He is housetrained, up-to-date on vaccines and neutered. If you are interested in learning more about Winston, or perhaps would like to schedule a meet-and-greet please contact The Canine Rescue of Central PA at 717-232-1644 or e-mail adopt@crcpa.org.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process encompasses several steps in an attempt to ensure the best possible placement of an animal with the most appropriate home. In addition to an application and time spent with the dog of interest, a home visit with the candidate is also a step in the adoption. We do charge an adoption fee as well as require the execution of an adoption agreement.

More about this rescue

Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c(3), all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing assistance to any dog in a helpless situation. While a young organization, we have made tremendous progress in establishing another valuable resource for our furry friends. It is our mission to get involved in as many situations as possible to provide sanctuary, shelter, and homes to as many dogs as we can. We also are very focused on creating strategic partnerships with other rescues and similar organizations in an attempt to share resources as well as expand public awareness of the overwhelming problem of homeless animals.
