My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Velcro poodle, Poppy, welcomes you! Yes Velcro, this 14 year old, 9 lb poodle promises to be by your side all of the time. She loves nothing more than to sit by your feet you while you read or watch TV. She is a delight and although a bit nervous when she meets new people, she quickly warms up and becomes your best friend.

She came to us after being surrendered to the shelter. She was not spayed, had multiple mammary tumors and required a dental. All of this has been taken care of and she is now ready for her forever home. She is deaf but tht does not slow her down 1 bit!

She also arrived with much hair loss due to flea dermatitis. She receives 2 medicated baths a week and it has helped. We don’t think her hair will grow back but she is still very soft.

Poppy loves to go for walks and rides very well in the car. She may prefer to be an only dog as she can be particular about her doggie friends. Poppy is house-trained and would love to live with a retired family or someone who works from home so she can have the opportunity to get outside frequently and have lots of companionship.

Poppy is a loveable and sweet little girl who has not had a very happy life to this point but she is working hard to ensure that the rest of her days are happy ones where she receives the love and care she deserves and has truly earned.

If interested in adopting Poppy, please complete an adoption application which can be found at www.seniordoghaven.org under the Adoption Process tab. If you have any questions about this little guy, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file.
