My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Annabelle was recently rescued out of a horrible situation. This poor gal had been living in squalor in an outdoor kennel most of her life, hidden away in a dog house. She has had no interaction with people except to be given food or water and it appears that was not daily. The individual who held her in this condition, did the right thing and gave us authorization to take her out of the situation, so please reserve comments. We have her now and she is starting her journey on the mend and full of smiles. Annabelle has been seen by a veterinarian for an initial exam and received vaccines and unfortunately did test heartworm positive plus in heat to top it off. The rescue will start her on treatment and then she will be spayed. Any donations towards her medical vetting would be greatly appreciated. Annabelle is approx 5- 6 yrs old. Great with other dogs and cats. Great with adults and kids but lacks manners. She does tend to get a little too excited to be around small children and will jump up. Her foster family is working towards correcting that jumping up behavior. Sadly, she did spend most of her life in a 6X8 kennel with a plastic dog house as her shelter. She did not get the socialization with people or other animals she should have otherwise. She will need an Angel that is patient, understanding and dishes out plenty of love, but in the end worth it! Even though she had a bad start in life she is the most absolutely loving dog with a wonderful disposition. She just craves attention and just wants nothing more than to make you happy. She is a quick study and since arriving at her foster home she has not had any accidents in the house. She does know somewhat how to sit when asked. She will hoard your blanket, clothes or rugs and then attempt to chew them so she will need to be supervised in the house and not left unattended, so a stay-at-home or work-from home family member is required. However, her foster says with keeping plenty of other doggie friendly alternatives around for her play with does minimize her temptations. Annabelle is so deserving to live out her days comfortable and loved. If you have a heart and wish to give sweet Annabelle the life she deserves please go complete our online adoption application http://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application Annebelle will be fully medically vetted; spayed, up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm tested positive and treated or treatment will go with her plus microchipped.
