My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ziva was pulled from Harris County Shelter and like most shelter dogs, we didn't know much about her history. Because of the pandemic, her foster mom works from home and has had the opportunity to be with Ziva 24/7. What we know about her now is that she's goofy and fun and hops when she gets excited. She "talks" to her foster mom and has a lot to say every morning. Ziva is smart and true to her breed, likes to work. She spends a lot of time engaging in brain games and playing with puzzle-type toys. Ziva is FULL of energy and will need a family or parent that will keep her busy - toys, games, walks, runs, car rides...she loves them all. She's learned to walk really well on a leash, how to sit on command and shake hands. This young girl will also need someone who is patient, because she's shy around new people, but once she trusts you, she gives you 100%! Full disclosure: Ziva is not the kind of dog to spend hours alone in the house or back yard - she is too active and needs interaction and as like most young dogs, she requires supervision. But she's fully crate trained for when she needs to be left alone. She has a specific fondness towards shoe laces and playing "catch me if you can". All normal behavior for a young dog! Ziva has been fostered in a home with 4 other dogs of all sizes and has done well; however, she does prefer to chase the smallest dog. She would do great in a home with a confident, medium to large dog - she really would love a playmate and it helps with her building her own confidence! Ziva has been around kids as young as 4 and does great. She is approximately 1 year old and weighs about 40 lbs right now. We believe she'll be around 50 at her heaviest. Ziva will be spayed next week and then will be ready for her happily ever after!
