OH MY! Poor Gordy. This sweet little guy would do anything for a home of his own or even just someone to believe in him. He's been sitting now for over 6 months at the shelter and watched all his friends come and go, but he's still here. Gordy cannot understand why? He's knows he's a little goofy looking by some standards with his big silly grin and oh yeah he's got pit bull in him if you can believe that. But see Gordy loves everyone so he can't understand that everyone wouldn't love him in return. In his heart he knows he's got just as much love to give and maybe even a little extra with lots of gratitude on top for the lucky someone who saves him!
Gordy was found as a shabby stray possibly wondering the streets for some time before he was picked up. For him even the shelter was a hugh improvement. He was happy just for regular meals and a warm place to sleep. Imagine how amazed he will be to find out what it's like to have a loving family and his very own home. That would be like heaven for this sweet, sad little guy.
Despite this set back though Gordy is not giving up. This little sweetie is the life of the party when he gets a chance. There isn't anything he doesn't want to do. He loves to swim, and run, and play, and catch, and hike, and did I say play. Most of all he wants to be right by your side and go everywhere you go. He would be happy doing anything as long as it's with his best friend by his side.
Gordy has an unbelievable jest for life and he's a comic genius. Everything about this goofy faced little guy will make you laugh and just want to get down on the floor and roll around too. His joy and exuberance is totally infectious and surprising, especially for a dog who's known so little comforts and not much care.
If you are looking for that perfect little buddy to take everywhere and enjoy all of life's adventure's Gordy is your guy. Going to nice long car rides and swimming all day are his favorites, but he's up for anything as long as he gets to be with you. And best of all when you're finally ready to settle in for nap after all the fun, Gordy will be right there to cuddle you up and make sure you won't be lonely.
Ok, how about the stats: Gordy is a one - two year old ball of pure joy and spirit. He's house trained, leash trained (doesn't pull :), he's good with dogs, but no cats, and best of all he listens very well to commands. Also he loves kids, but should not be placed with children under 8 as he's just so exuberant he's likely to knock them over. Gordy has been temperment tested by several dog behaviorists and recommended as a working or therapy dog due to his eagerness to learn new tricks and his ability to concentrate and adapt to new situations. Also his absolute devotion to people doesn't hurt.
If you give Gordy the chance to win your heart you will find the most loyal companion and best friend you've ever had. He's waited so long there's no way he's going to take you for granted. He will fall madly in love and want nothing more than to be by your side making you as happy as he can for the rest of his life.
