My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** COURTESY POST FOR INDEPENDENT ADOPTER **

Meet Sushi!

Unfortunately, Sushi had a rough start to life. We trapped her when she was a teenager in Ontario after someone said there was an injured kitty there. Sushi had a duct tape roll stuck around her neck which had been cutting into her skin and ligaments. It was awful! The cardboard stunk really bad and she had an infection from it. We immediately trapped her and she went into the vet the following morning. They cut off the roll and stitched her up. She was on heavy antibiotics for two weeks and she healed beautifully! Obviously after that, it took her a little bit longer to warm up to humans, of course!

Now, she is reserved at first until she knows you and is comfortable and then is rubbing all over you and involved in everything you are doing. Sushi likes to follow you around and when you sit, she's asking for pets. Sushi will do very well in an environment with someone who is patient enough to let her warm up at her own pace. Once she has acclimated to a new person, new smells, new sounds and a new environment, she will make someone very happy. She will be your constant companion.

Sushi does not like dogs due to running from coyotes while injured to stay alive. She is used to being around other cats who are even-tempered. She does not like bossy cats and she will not blossom if she's around one. She would do great with a male kitty. Her brother, Otis is calm & mild and they hang together quite often. She loves to play with you, sleep in her big, fluffy bed (and on your bed when she's ready) and she is learning to talk. Sushi can be adopted as a foster-to-adopt or a straight out adoption. All of our adoptions come with a mandatory two week trial period.
