My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Smokey is a purebred Tri-colored, one year old rough male collie. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, and is micro-chipped. Smokey's human Mom was allergic to him, and sadly, was forced to give him up. He is a very beautiful young collie boy. Smokey is very sweet and LOVES to cuddle. He is very playful, active, and has had some obedience training.

He is a bit skittish with loud noises and fast movements. Collies are a sensitive breed, so this can often be the case. Since he is so young, he will need to continue with training and socialization. For that reason, he will need to be placed in an experienced dog home. He likes children, but because he is not comfortable with fast movements yet, it would be best if he went to a home with no children or older children. With proper training and socialization, he should overcome this.

Smokey gets along very well with other dogs and will need a home with another dog or two. He would prefer not to be an only dog. Smokey was not raised with cats, but he is now living with cats at his foster home. We are still evaluating him to see if he will be ok in a home with cats. New 09.04.2009
