My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Jax! I am 5 years old. I had an owner that took very good care of me! When he passed away, I was let go in the country. I made my way to some really nice humans, who took me in until I can find my new forever home. My foster humans take me on daily walks, which I LOVE! I get so excited when I see them putting their tennis shoes on! I also love being inside, lounging on the end of the couch or in the big living room chair. But, I also need to be outside, to run and play. Just not when the mean lawnmower machine comes around. And, please don't ever put me in one of those crate things. They give me horrible anxiety! I have a big tennis ball that I lay on my back and hold in the air with my paws. I don't mean to brag, but I heard the lady human tell the man human that it is the cutest thing she's ever seen! I am wonderful with all to the humans great and small (foster home has 3 kids aged 11-17), and the two other dogs that I'm staying with, from the biggest one (female shepherd mix 8 yrs) to the littlest one (male min pin 5 yrs). I just want so many lovins' and pats! My fosters have not seen me with a cat (other than the one I chased up a tree). So, they are not sure how I'd act around one in the house. But, if you need a squirrel run off, I'm your guy! I was well trained and obviously loved by my original owner. He taught me to NOT potty in the house, to sit, shake, and I know what the word NO means, really well. If you say it to me, I will look sad. So, there you have it! I am just a big, lovable, well behaved boy, who wants to snuggle, play, go for walks, and lounge. I love treats and humans and dogs of all sizes. I would be best in a home with another dog so I don't get lonely. I need a really special human or family that is just as active and loving as I am!
Please apply at shelterfriends.org to take me home!
