My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We picked up Renji from a house in Des Moines with a sign in the front lawn that said ‘free cats.’ The very first thing he did was run away from us—and we knew we had to have him.

He grew up from a little scaredy cat into a refined orange tabby. He’s an excellent conversationalist, a comfortable lap warmer, and, once he warms up to you, a highly affectionate friend.

In the last few months he’s developed an inverted eyelid that will need surgery to correct; we have tried to get it done but Coronavirus means no surgery until September or so.

Despite not being fixed, he’s never sprayed shown signs of aggression. He’s 100% an indoor cat and doesn’t know outside survival. He LOVES snuggling up to other cats, and has lived with dogs his whole life, so he’s good with both.

We would keep Renji if we had a choice. We’re incredibly sad to have to rehome him, since we’ve never had to rehome a pet before, but we know we can find him a beautiful home to be happy in.
