Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Visit http://www.sarahstreasuresrescue.net for more information or to fill out an application.
Reina is a 3 year old female Doberman who was surrendered to rescue due to the family not having enough time for training or attention for her. She spent a large amount of her time in a kennel or tied in the yard. Reina weighs approximately 60-65 pounds and is considered full grown.
Reina does well with other dogs and enjoys play dates. She is good with both large and smaller pups and respectful of each pup’s individual preferences. Reina has been around cats in her foster home and does well. She will occasionally chase the cats, but she’s not aggressive with them.
Reina is a bit timid and aloof with new people at first but warms up quickly. She adores her people and loves to be with them as much as possible. Reina has been around children as young as 3 years and done wonderfully. She can be a tad clumsy when she’s excited, but she tries extremely hard to be aware and gentle.
Reina has had a few accidents when settling in to her foster home, but once settled, she is house trained and kennel trained. Reina has been working hard on her basic commands, but still needs some work. She will come when called, sit, and kennel up. She is working on lay down. Reina does well on the leash but will pull at times – she’s improved tremendously since arriving to rescue on this skill.
Reina loves to chew on bones and lay on soft dog beds. She will occasionally play with toys but seems to prefer to lay down and chew a good bone instead. Reina has a very energy level and needs daily exercise. Without regular exercise, her manners goes out the windows and she tends to make trouble for herself.
Reina would prefer to find a family who has breed experience, a large yard (preferably fenced), and a family willing to include her in as much as possible. She loves car rides and enjoys running errands with her foster family.
Reina has been vet checked, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, spayed, and is current on her flea/tick/heartworm/deworming protocols. Reina’s adoption donation fee is $300.
