My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Visit http://www.sarahstreasuresrescue.net for more information or to fill out an application.

Ailah is approximately 2-3 years old female Husky. She does not appear to be mixed with another breed, but beings she was found as a stray, we cannot say for sure. Ailah was found as a stray in rural MN and came to us after her stray hold was up and she needed rescue. Ailah weighs approximately 55-60 pounds and is considered fully grown.

Ailah does well with other dogs – both large/small and male/female. At times, she loves to run and play tag with the others and other times she enjoys just lounging with their company. Ailah has been around cats and did not show much interest – she currently is not living with any cats at this time, so we would advise caution.

Ailah does well with people of all ages – she is naturally friendly and curious and will happily say hello. She can be independent (typical of breed) and may seem aloof until she fully warms up. Ailah does pull on the leash but is working on improving slowly. Ailah knows how to sit and kennel up. She also knows how to come, but she is stubborn and likes to play catch me if you can if she is not ready to come to you.

Ailah can be an escape artist – she will hop over a 4 ft fence easily. If she gets free, she does run. She would do best with a secure fenced yard (preferably 6ft tall) or to always be on a leash/zip line. Her foster home has not seen any digging habits trying to escape, but the husky breed is notorious for trying different methods to escape. Ailah would prefer to find a family who understands the husky breed and is ready to dedicate some time to her to continue to teach her how to be an amazing companion!

Ailah is vet checked, started on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, and current on her flea/tick/heartworm/deworming protocols. Ailah’s adoption donation fee is $300.00.
