Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jake used to live the all-American dream. A nice house with a white picket fence, 2 kids, the works. The white picket fence apparently wasn't fool proof enough to keep Jake and his buddy from escaping from time to time, but they never got hurt because the neighbors liked them and brought them back home each time. The last time they got out, they wound up at the pound and when the Animal Control officers called their owners to reclaim them, they politely said okay, then never showed up. A second call got the answer that they were moving and couldn't take them. So much for family values, eh?
As you can tell by his pictures, Jake isn't exactly a spring chicken, although he can do a good imitation of one. He has no problems keeping up with the young dogs in his foster home and he literally runs circles around the other senior dog. He's more playful than their 2 year old lab, if you can believe that! Sure, he's grown a little bit of a spare tire over the years and is a bit gray around the gills, but his spirit is pure puppy. Jake's foster family says that he just couldn't be a better dog. He's got a laidback, happy attitude toward life and beams goodwill towards all humans and dogs and cats. He loves to roll around on the ground and act silly, but he also lays down quietly any time you ask him to. He's not a barker either. At our adopt a pet days, he's the grand master who contentedly chews on a rawhide, watching the goofy youngsters with amusement. (And we're not just talkin' dogs.)
Dogs are wonderful at every age, but there's something about a golden oldie that tops them all. Just ask anyone who has ever had one.
