My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey guys! My name is Randy, and I would love to tell you a little bit about myself. I am an affectionate, lovable kitty. You see, I was just your average 6-year-old stray cat back in January. Not a lot of people realize it, but being an outdoor cat is very hard. In the winter, it's really cold and difficult to find shelter, and there are a lot of big scary animals out there that don't want to be my friend. It was really hard to find food every day and I was always hungry. Some nice person found me and brought me to the local shelter. I was in pretty rough shape - I was skinny and had a lot of fleas, an upper respiratory infection and I was clearly blind in one eye. I was really scared when I first got to the shelter since I hadn't had a lot of experiences with humans yet. Back when I was an outdoor cat, there were a lot of people who were mean to me, so I wasn't sure who I could trust yet. Once I got comfortable, I really came out of my shell and became very sweet and loving! I absolutely love to be petted and loved on, and want nothing more than for someone to love me back. Even though I'm blind in one eye, I love attention. It takes me a bit of time to adjust to new people, but once I get to know you a little better, we'll be absolute best friends. I promise if you just give me a chance you won't be disappointed in me. All I really want is a nice cozy indoor home with people who love me as much as I love them. I use the litterbox like a good boy. Please apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $110. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
