My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beautiful Izzy comes from a very hard knock life. She was rescued near starvation from an abandoned home with approximately 20 other cats. She was 4 months old and weighed 2 lbs - the weight of an 8 week old kitten. She had ear mites, Giardia, and a bad upper respiratory infection. One of her ears was raw and bleeding. Bedraggled, emaciated, filthy, patches of hair missing, she was a terrible sight to see. Even worse, she tested positive for FIV, which makes her need regular veterinary care and 100% indoor only. FIV results in a greater susceptibility to cat diseases but she is not contagious to other cats unless involved in deep biting or sexual contact. Izzy has come out of her shell and is now a bouncy, happy, very playful teen kitten. She likes to nap on a lap and clean your hands as she grooms herself. Izzy loves popcorn and will come running when she hears the popper popping. She also enjoys playing in her donut-shaped tunnel with a bouncy feather wand. Izzy has a mothering instinct for her toy mouse and will carry it around the house making little chirping noises. She doesn't really meow - she squeaks and chatters. Cute, cute, cute - that best describes Izzy. Her exuberance is adorable. When she wants you to play with her she comes up and gives you a gentle nip on your shirtsleeve and then goes to sit by the toy she wants to play with. Very smart! She has become very bonded to her caretakers and sleeps at the foot of the bed with them.. Because of her special needs applicants will need to be committed to making sure she stays on her supplements, gets twice yearly vet checkups, and stay on top of her dental needs. With that kind of care she can live a normal life span - FIV is NOT a death sentence - it is health condition that can be managed with just a little care. Izzy has been spayed, is up to date on her shots, has tested negative for Feline Leukemia, and has been microchipped. She has been deflead and dewormed. An application, landlord approval if renting, a safety homecheck, and adoption fee are required. Discount to seniors, military/veterans, and with proof of disability. Are you the special someone who can give our little waif the home she needs and deserves? She will keep you endlessly entertained.
