My story

Cody is a silver and tan yorkie that was surrendered to rescue by a puppy mill that was shutting down. He is an incredibly sweet buy shy little guy. His date of birth is 9/9/2014. He was pretty skinny and dehydrated the day he was taken in to rescue. He is looking and feeling much better now. He has gained needed weight, been neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations and had an extensive dental due to the terrible condition of his teeth. He also tested negative for heartworms. He should not be considered for adoption by a family with children due to his lack of socialization and would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who will be able to continue to nurture him so that he will gain enough self-confidence to blossom in to the ideal, loving companion he deserves to be. Cody is currently being fostered in Arkansas. Due to his extensive medical needs when first rescued, Cody’s adoption donation is $545, which includes his $145 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Cody, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.
Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
