My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sal (aka Salvadore and Salamander) is a six to eight year old chihuahua who looks to be mixed with dachshund. His ears are as big as his personality! Sal loves to snuggle and has bonded quickly. His favorite thing is to spend time with his people. His favorite toy is a small ball that he would rather chew than chase. He is also curious and loves exploring the neighborhood while slowly getting used to runners and bicyclists on the nearby paths. He walks great on a leash and has good stamina despite his short legs. Sal is mostly hairless, so he would need sunscreen and/or a shirt for extended periods outdoors. His house training is in progress and he does use a kennel, even though he's not fond of it. His adopters will need to patiently teach him to feel safe and comfortable in his forever home. Sal can and has lived with other dogs, and even a cat, and he would thrive in a home with a retired couple or individual, or someone who works from home, who can give him a lot of attention and neighborhood strolls. Sal was surrendered when his owner died, and he has since lost his entire family. Are you the one to give him a secure place to live out his golden years?
