Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dory was rescued from the Carson shelter after being picked up as a stray. This sensitive gal was placed in a foster home by another rescue, but it quickly became clear that she needed more support than just a safe place to land. Lucky for Dory, her foster family has a long history of helping dogs like her and was able to reach out to No Bull Rehab for help! Dory started her journey as a very scared pup and untrusting of people, but we’re happy to report that through extensive training, she is now on the right path for her forever home. She knows all the basics (come, sit, down, place) and walks GREAT on a leash. This is the type of gal you can walk while drinking your morning coffee! She is also great in her crate- doesn’t shred her beds or potty in the house.
Although she has been steadily building up her confidence with strangers, Dory still needs time to warm up to her people and is adapting to a life that includes affectionate human touch. While she will enjoy a pat on the head or an ear scratch here and there, she’s not ready for a full snuggle session yet. A quiet lounge on the patio or snooze on the dog cot is her favorite way to spend her downtime with you.
Dory’s next home will need to be one with adults only, and no other pets. She is looking for a dedicated, patient person that is committed to reinforcing her training and giving her the time and space to come out of her shell to unleash her full potential. Is that you?
