Oreo is a 18 mo. old, female, Mini Australian Shepherd. She is UTD on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. Oreo was reclaimed from her original adopters by her breeder in order to rehabilitate her. Oreos' initial adopters did not fully understand the breeds needs. Unfortunately, her history includes being teased to the point she jumped a fence and bit the neighbor’s son that did the teasing. There were also some food issues which resulted in Oreos' loss of weight and resource guarding her human(s). Oreo has been worked with extensively. Adopter must want her as an inside family member. No kenneling outside. She lets people get close without demonstrating aggressive behavior. The adoption candidate MUST be knowledgeable of the Australian Shepherd breed (or herding breed), and willing to continue working with Oreo to help continue her education. The ideal candidate will have a large fenced yard and able to spend significant time with Oreo. Vet references are required. A home visit will be done prior to adoption. Oreo knows basic commands and plays well with other dogs. She is a true Velcro wiggle butt. Oreo is approximately 16 ½ inches tall, 30 pounds, Black Tri with White markings and Copper points.
