Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gwen is a 5 year old super sweetheart with a very sad story. When we first met her she was at a kill shelter very thin and hairless from mange. She was so depressed, she wouldn't even hold her head up, but when we opened her cage door and put a leash on her, her tail started to wag. It hasn't stopped wagging since! Gwen has now put on weight and has recovered from the mange. She is a very beautiful girl now both inside and out. Gwen is now ready to find her forever home.
Gwen is very friendly and loves to meet new people. She is fine around other dogs, although she can get a little grouchy if another dog tries to take her rawhide. Due to this we recommend she is monitored when eating or being given rawhides, etc. if another dog is around. Gwen is full of energy and does not understand how big she is so a home with children over 10 is also required. Gwen has been around small children for short periods of time, however, and has done very good with them, but she has not been around them for an extended period of time in a home setting. Gwen is crate trained and house-trained. She acts like she has lived in a home before because she goes straight to the door wanting in even though right now she is living outside. She loves to ride in the car. She mostly just wants to be with people and be loved on though. She loves to roll on her back and if you rub her belly, she will fall asleep. Gwen is also great at getting a bath, ear cleaning and nail trim. In fact she will let you do about anything with her. She is a super companion dog! Gwen weighs about 40-45 lbs and is current on all vaccinations, microchipped and has been spayed. She is also heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea preventative. Gwen needs a loving home with an experienced owner.
