Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucky has used up eight of his nine lives. He has extra luck being black and a polydactyl! He came to us when a kind man called our hotline in distress because he witnessed a dog brutally attack a homeless cat. He made lots of noise so that the dog got scared and ran off. Our dedicated volunteer rushed to the scene and took the cat to emergency. Lucky was really in bad shape. He was listless and in pain and a mess with his back leg being torn to the bone. The vet were not sure that he would make it through the night but he did. It's been six weeks and Lucky is strutting around the place. He is so grateful and confident and just so, so happy. He is a big character. Lucky doesn't have all of his hair back yet and still has quite a few scars on him. His inner eye lid has a tear but it does not cause any discomfort so surgery is not recommended. It adds to his character. Lucky also tests positive for the FIV antibodies. Being a homeless male cat for so long and being challenged by other tom cats will do that. He is now a diplomat. He wants no part of any confrontation. He just wants to enjoy life and let people know that we finally did right by him. By the way, it was determined by our vet that it was not a dog that attacked Lucky but a coyote!
