Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zuko is an 8 month old brown-tri Aussie that was surrendered to us, along with his sister Sandy (who is also looking for a foster/furever home, separately!) on June 1 after the family that owned them became allergic & their only source of "exercise", playing with the 7 kids they lived with, no longer existed.
Zuko is a very affectionate boy & warms up quickly. He has not been introduced to many people in his short life & is weary at first, particularly with men, but with lots of treats & a little bit of patience he will be your bestie in no time! He is a very sweet boy & those green eyes will melt your heart!
He is still so young & all kinds of socialization is crucial at this point for his success in public places & with people coming to your home.
He does well with other dogs but does have strong herding instincts & can play a little rough sometimes. But again, with continued socialization + training he can learn to take cues from other dogs when enough is enough. He would be great at agility or living on a farm!
Zuko is not fully housebroken as they only lived outside but he is crate trained & can hold it overnight in the crate, so is learning quickly. He knows "sit", "come" & has been working on "lay" & "off".
We are separating Sandy & Zuko because as siblings (which usually are not a good idea) they did not received the proper training & socialization they needed in general, or more importantly apart from one another, to gain the confidence & manners they need to be successful together. This is the best option for them & they will be much happier in different homes!
Zuko loves to give kisses, lay his head on your lap & gaze into your eyes, play fetch, get his ears scratched & will make an active family very happy! His high-energy breed needs lots of direction & exercise. Please do not apply for Zuko if you do not have the time to devote to his training, exercise needs or don't have a fully-fenced yard!
He is UTD on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped & will be neutered on June 22. He needs a foster home ASAP away from Sandy or is available for foster-to-adopt!
