Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alright, kids!!! We are officially ready to start accepting applications for Kovi!!!! Things to consider: Kovi will not do well around children so it is a requirement that his new home be kid free. It is evident that he was very abused in his former home and he gets very reactive if chased, approached too quickly, or is in a loud environment with yelling and screaming. He also doesn’t do great with other dogs. We ARE working on this, but it’s not a guarantee that he will change. So, he most likely will need to go to a home where he is the only dog. It has taken him 2 months to be able to even co-exist with the 4 dogs he lives with. He does OKAY, but isn’t terribly happy to be near or around them and has gotten sassy with them. As it stands now, his skin is fully healed. He’s currently being weaned off of his Apoquel, but he may need to be on it for the rest of his life. This isn’t a cheap medication, so please consider the potential cost he may come with. Otherwise, he does excellent with people, but will need to go to a home that can continue being the alpha guide for him. He needs structure, consistency, and he also needs patience. He loves going for a walk, but he is reactive to other dogs. He does fine in the car. His favorite thing is to play fetch. He could do it for hours. Or, if you prefer to chill on the couch and binge some true crime, he will happily curl up on or by you for hours. You will become his favorite thing. He seeks constant reassurance and affection. He is and has been potty trained since day one. He is definitely on the younger side, between 1 and 2. Absolutely NO CATS!!! He does have a decent prey drive. He does fine in the crate, but prefers to sleep with his humans at night. Kovi comes with a lot of baggage, but he promises to love you with all of his heart and be your best friend and constant shadow for the rest of his life!
An adoption fee of $250 includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, flea and heartworm preventatives if appropriate, and all medical costs while in our care.
