Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Scamp is 6 years old. When she arrived I found out that Scamp's mom had dementia and had been living with her son for about a month. Scamp was left totally alone during this time with the son only coming by every day or so to check on her and make sure she had food and water. We don't know how long her mom had dementia or how bad she was but Scamp is a long haired cat that was so badly matted she had to be shaved.
Poor Scamp was terrified when she arrived. Can you imagine living with an elderly person all your life, then being left totally alone for a month, then being crated by someone you barely knew, taken to the vet's office where you spent the night, then was sedated and shaved and when you woke up you were taken to another strange place with noises and animals that you had never been exposed to before? We felt so bad for her.
It took several days for her to venture out of her crate but she now is happy and moves all around the cat room without fear. She has come out of the cat room into the house a few times but we also have 4 dogs so she scurries back into the room quickly whenever she see them.
