Intake Date: 1 June 2020 ——- Age: 3 yrs ----- Breed: Great Pyrenees ----- Size: 100 lbs ----- Status: owner surrender ----- Compatible with: dogs, older children. No cats. ----- Suitable for: home with a securely fenced yard. ——- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Uneasy around young children. NOT adoptable to a home with children. Farm/country home ----- Additional Notes: This polar bear of a dog came to rescue after being bounced a few times. A foster home took him in as an owner surrender for another rescue, but the rescue closed abandoning Booser and two other dogs with the foster. We were asked to assist and here he is! Booser is by far one of my favorite dogs and I am amazed he is still here....
Booser is a fun loving, giant goof ball of a dog, but he does have a few quirks that come along with owning a guarding breed. While generally friendly and excited to meet new people, he is very uneasy around children. There is a history there of trauma so we will not place him in a home with children. NL EXCEPTIONS. Booser loves hard. His favorite things are belly rubs and to gallop around playing with all of the dogs here. He has yet to meet a dog he doesn't like. He is amazing on a leash and loves walks! Booser is generally quiet in the house and not a barker (as a note, he is currently fostered in a rural area so there also isn't a whole lot going on). Booser deserves a home that will love him for the big, fluffy, shed-everywhere, class clown of a dog that he is. He is just a fun guy. And he deserves a home and a forever family. He would do best as a country dog.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. Boosers adoption fee is $25 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A securely fenced yard is mandatory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
