Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Buddy Bear is a laid-back, low maintenance boy looking for his forever home. Here is the short list of his requests:
* Fenced yard
* Quieter home
* Best as only dog or another calm dog
* Older kids only (really prefers grown ups)!
* Must have a lap to snuggle on
Buddy Bear is a 3 yr old, 38# mini Aussie whose favorite activities are relaxing in his crate or snuggling on your lap. His ideal owner is someone who can give him love when he jumps on their lap, and will patiently help build his confidence to help him come out of his shell. He is very loving and loyal to his person, but quite timid, especially on initial meetings. Though energetic at times, he would lay in your lap and cuddle all day if you let him.
He really enjoys his daily walks and time in the back yard. He walks well on a leash but does still get nervous if he encounters people he doesn’t know. Buddy Bear sees his open crate as his safe place and his space to relax and chill. He’s learning to play with toys, and likes to collect them in his crate.
Buddy Bear tolerates most other dogs, but doesn’t engage in play with them, and doesn’t like to share his precious toys. He would be happiest as an only dog or with another dog equally as chill as he is. He is OK with cats if they don’t run from him. Small children make Buddy very nervous, and although he’d probably prefer a quiet home with only adults, he does tolerate older kids. He gets so excited when his human gets home from work, then after his greeting and kisses, goes back to relaxing. He’s not crazy about car rides and sometimes gets a little car sick. In all, Buddy Bear is a home body who loves his human. Did we say low-maintenance?
Buddy Bear is up to date on all his immunizations, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm, flea and tick preventatives. He will need to stay on these preventatives his whole life. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows his basic commands like “sit”, “shake”, “wait”, and “lay down”.
He is being fostered in Joplin, MO, and his adopters will need to travel to him to meet him. If you’d like to meet Buddy Bear, please fill out an application here. australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application
