My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ: Sparky has a medical condition. This message is from our Rescue Mama.

This little old man is a pleasure to be in in my life, but he's also a little bit of a handful because I am currently fostering Sparky in a very active home. Sparky is a great little guy but he suffers from IVDD which is basically Degenerative Disc Disease. He's got several discs in his neck that cannot be fixed and it causes him extreme pain if not managed. Now that I've done all of the medical testing and consultations, a plan is in place to to keep the little guy comfortable and happy. He's got many years ahead of his seven, if rules are followed.

Sparky likes all animals and he's very active puttering around the house, but he should be in a home with maybe one other little dog or some cats. He would be ideal for a quiet enough home with grandchildren that visit. He likes his people. He always has to wear a harness and under NO circumstances, should his neck ever, ever be touched. He DOES have spasms until he has his pain medication in the morning. He likes wet food, and I put the medication in it and he enjoys an audience while he eats. He's going to need to go to the vet for nail clipping or an experienced groomer. He's pretty hysterical, albeit his condition, and he's a love bug. My large dogs topple him and I worry that he will get hurt. But he will stay with me until he is adopted. Please feel free to email with questions or apply via www.brasscityrescue.org
