My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I`m in a foster home! To adopt me, email my foster parent at sxd020315@gmail.com

Hi, I’m Ty! I’m a 5-year-old gentleman with a soft heart and a quiet soul. I can be a little sensitive sometimes — loud noises still make me nervous, and I feel safest in calm, cozy spaces. What I really need is someone with a gentle voice, a patient heart, and lots of love to give. Once I feel safe with you, I absolutely adore being petted. I’ll lean into your hand, nuzzle close, and maybe even show you my belly (but only if you’ve truly earned it!). I might take a little while to fully trust, but I promise I’m worth the wait. I have a great appetite, I drink lots of water, and I’m very clean and quiet. Most importantly — I’m always gentle. I never bite or scratch, even when I’m scared. All I need is your kindness and a soft place to land.

If you’re interested in giving me a loving home, please contact my foster at sxd020315@gmail.com. I can’t wait to meet you.

More about this shelter

At the Humane Rescue Alliance, we honor more than 150 years of commitment to protecting animals, supporting families, and advocating for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive. HRA serves as a national leader and local champion for all animals.

With a people-focused, community-based approach, we treat every animal as an individual and emphasize specialized care for both animals and their families. Through our two campuses in the District of Columbia and New Jersey, we are the largest animal services provider in our region – touching the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually through direct rescue, care, and community-based services. Our teams find solutions to both small and big problems, from providing direct care to an animal in crisis to tackling systemic barriers to affordable, pet-friendly housing.
