My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THESE ARE OBSERVATIONS MADE AT TIME OF EXAM AND MAY NOT REFLECT HOW THE DOG WILL BE IN A HOME ENVIRONMENT. THEY MAY ALSO DIFFER FROM WHAT PREVIOUS OWNER STATED DUE TO THE NEW SITUATIONS AND PEOPLE ENCOUNTERED.
General Notes: Brought in by temporary owner who could not provide further care for her. No medical or behavioral issues noted. Provided history is scant but Baby is noted to be housetrained and to do well in the home during the day.

Ease of Approach: At intake Baby is shy and withdrawn, remaining mostly still, but did not avoid approach. Very calm and gentle demeanor, somewhat tense but no defensiveness or reactivity noted. Likely to be much more comfortable and warm in familiar environments.

Energy Level: Medium-- difficult to assess at intake due to nervousness She did well living indoors, therefore is likely not to be too rambunctious or hyper

Touch/Handling: She was wary of handling at first but loosened up pretty quickly. Did very well with medical handling, only mild sensitivity. Very gentle demeanor and behavior.

Dog-to-Dog Notes: Introduced to a 4 yr old M Shepherd-x and was mainly indifferent, being nervous and not seeming to want much engagement. However she greeted in a friendly manner and showed no defensiveness or aggression. May do well with respectful dogs of similar size and energy. She is a good candidate to be an only dog in home, however having another dog may help her when left alone.

Suitability for Children: No history. Likely to do best with older children as younger children may overwhelm her.

Recommended Lifestyle/Living Conditions: Indoor primarily

Other Recommendations: Baby will need to develop confidence, especially being left alone in the home when she may display fear or anxiety (see intake profile), she will benefit from routine and practice with this, providing desensitization to being left alone.
