Pepper is a cute, playful pup! She is about 5 months old. You can see when she looks at you that she wants more than anything to attach herself to someone and be theirs forever. She appears to be that desirable blend of Australian Cattle Dog and Border Collie.

I found Pepper in the ultra-high-kill Bakersfield Shelter. She licked my hand so softly through the chain link I had to bail her out to make sure she was safe. She is not aggressive at all, and doesn't even like to play fight. She play bites, as is typical of her breed, but the bites are so soft they are almost caresses. When exposed to an aggressive smaller dog, she consistently turned the other cheek. She is very affectionate.

Pepper weighs about 24 pounds. She has had her shots, is microchipped, and is scheduled to be spayed. She is on her way to being crate and potty trained. Of course, Pepper should have an active life so her cattle dog instincts are not wasted. Cattle dogs make great frisbee and agility dogs. But Pepper also needs to be a member of the family.
