Lucky has recovered from his pneumonia and recent leg surgery. He is a wonderful dog. Totally potty trained and walks well on a leash. He gets along well with other dogs but probably would prefer to be in a home where he is the only dog. He is very independent and is very happy to be by your side or sleeping in his bed. He does enjoy walking outside and taking in the sites around the lake. He is low maintenance and could do well in a condo or apartment. I am biased but I believe he is the perfect dog for someone who wants the joy and love of a dog but does not want to run around after one. Once he knows and trusts you he is very loving! MARCH UPDATE:
LUCKY, a 7 yr old Yorkie boy, .. had a run of the worst luck possible...First he lost his home, surrendered to a shelter in Chicago because his owner could no longer take care of him. When he came to us, it was clear he had a broken heart and seemed to be constantly searching for his person.but even then, he had time to give us new friends a quick kiss, and showed very nice manners...We had some concerns with his weight at about 9 lbs, he should weigh only six lbs but that turned out to be the least of our concerns. Suddenly, this poor, sweet, sad little dog who had come to us 2 days earlier with a minor cough, was coughing up blood....Lucky had developed pneumonia.and I am sure that his emotional pain had something to do with it. Lucky spent 4 days in the hospital at OVRS and has just been released. His bills to date are over $1900.00....He is now in a loving foster home being administered breathing treatments and antibiotics as we work to make him well, heal his body and hopefully fill his heart & life with love from another angel who will keep the promise of a forever home.
